CBAmerica selects ViServ for national database

July 15, 2002

LITTLETON, Colo. -- CBAmerica has selected ViServ Inc. to provide a Web-based database for its network of 1,200 conservative Baptist churches. CBAmerica users will be able to access the organization's data from the Internet wherever they are working, according to a CBAmerica news release.

"We realize that today's ministry leaders need to work from anywhere, at anytime, and that as they work with their teams, they want to be connected to each other for collaboration as much as possible," ViServ CEO Bill Smith said.

Mountain View, Calif.-based ViServ is an Application Service Provider (ASP), a company that creates and hosts Internet-based computer software applications (See story: Churches find Web-based software programs an easy way to track members). Rather than installing a software program in a PC or network system, ASP users pay a monthly fee to access the information through the Internet. CBAmerica did not release what it is paying ViServ.

ViServ's modules include relationship management, financial contributions recording, custom reports and mail merge capability along with unlimited classifications of families, individuals and organizations.

CBAmerica, based in Littleton, Colo., assists its network of churches with church planting projects and pastoral care services.
