SBC adopts ACS Church Planter Management Tools for NAMB

by:   4/25/2006

FLORENCE, SC, — In a continuing effort to support the North American Mission Board (NAMB) in their primary responsibility of assisting Southern Baptist Churches in reaching the United States, Canada and U.S. territories with the gospel of Jesus Christ, ACS Technologies ( www.acstechnologies.com ) has released version 6.2 of its Church Planter Management System (CPMS) software.

First announced in mid-2004, the agreement between ACS Technologies and NAMB includes the development of reporting and pastoral management solutions for churches, associations and conventions. According to a news release, CPMS 6.2 gives churches expanded features including: more export functions, advanced prayer scheduling, unique pastor's library functionality, additional membership and class reports, secure data restore and backup functions, expanded membership decision tracking and much more. These enhancements will equip church plants with additional ministry tools to help them build their churches and reach out in their communities.

"Technology keeps improving with the collective input from users. The new 6.2 version of CPMS is an outstanding software tool for new churches," states Mike Carlisle, vice president of the church consulting group at NAMB ( www.namb.net ).

For SBC-affiliated churches that are less than 12 months old, the CPMS 6.2 upgrade will be provided at no charge. Churches over 12 months old will have the opportunity to upgrade their current version to the new 6.2 release as a part of a new annual preferred client subscription service. "We believe in doing all we can to assist organizations by providing the best software tools for ministry work," comments Hal Campbell, President and CEO of ACS Technologies. "We've built CPMS with the SBC's needs in mind and hope that the new features of this program will further assist them in reaching their outreach goals."
