COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A recent study shows that Christian camps and conference centers across the United States are influencing some eight million lives each year, with more than 250,000 dedicating their lives to Christ.
According to an AgapePress news report, the research shows the impact outdoor programming has among youth and adults.
Bob Kobielush, president of Christian Camping International/USA, which commissioned the study, said a variety of camping programs and facilities have led to life-changing experiences for many, and those people have gone on to make a difference in their own families and communities.
About 500,000 people serving as full-time Christian workers trace their vocational decision to a Christian camp or conference experience they had, according to the study. The trend of using camps and conference centers primarily for summer activities is changing as facilities become year-round resources.
CCI/USA lists 1,080 camps and conferences among its members, the news service reported.
