We interviewed a group of 350 Christians we called the "transfer churched" because they moved from one church to another. We were interested in learning the similarities and differences between the unchurched and the churched when looking for a church home.
We found the doctrinal beliefs of a church were important to both the formerly unchurched and the transfer churched. Interestingly, we learned that many churches were developing strategies that reach Christians from other churches rather than reaching non-Christians and the unchurched.
This graph shows there is very little difference between the groups in this regard. By comparing the two groups, we can perhaps help churches adjust their strategies more specifically for the unchurched.
