PHOENIX -- Gearing up for their annual convention, Southern Baptists will bring block parties, door-to-door visits, random acts of kindness and other evangelistic efforts to metropolitan Phoenix, the Baptist Press reported.
The Crossover Arizona campaign will kick off June 14 -- the Saturday before the June 17-18 convention. On the weekend following the convention, pairs of Arizona churches will partner to expand the campaign throughout the state.
While most of the national volunteers will participate June 14, the second weekend gives volunteers more opportunity to evangelize.
"Here in Arizona, we see it as a way to get us unified across the state on sharing the gospel," said Jerry Martin, state coordinator for Crossover Arizona and director of missions for Valley Rim Baptist Association in Mesa. "We know that will overflow into making a difference in the west."
