HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- Our Sunday Visitor Inc., a Catholic, not-for-profit producer of parish offering envelopes, has acquired the assets of American Paper Group Inc., a major envelope producer based in Youngstown, Ohio.
American Paper Group (APG), parent of AmericanChurch, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November. The company's sale to Our Sunday Visitor was finalized Jan. 15, according to a news release.
APG manufactures envelopes for religious and commercial use. Kyle Hamilton, president of Our Sunday Visitor's Offering Envelope Division, said they will work to eliminate any backlogs in orders and resolve customer service issues that might have arisen in the months leading up to the bankruptcy.
"Usually in a bankruptcy a company struggles to maintain its commitments and serve its customers," Hamilton said. "We want to address these issues immediately."
Our Sunday Visitor has two divisions. The Offering Envelope Division manufactures and distributes offering envelopes to Catholic churches throughout the country. The Publishing Division produces Catholic books, parish-based faith formation materials and seven periodicals, including a national Catholic weekly newspaper, Our Sunday Visitor.
