GERING, Neb. -- An Assembly of God pastor and his wife were fined $100 each for restraining a youth group member and praying over him.

Dwight Sandoz of Minatare, Neb., and his wife, Nadine, were found guilty of false imprisonment of a minor, according to The Associated Press. Scotts Bluff county judge Glenn Camerer said the couple had good intentions, but broke the law.

The couple was accused of restraining a 16-year-old boy during a youth group meeting at their church on Feb. 20. Sandoz said the boy had become disruptive. He claims they only laid hands on the boy and prayed.

The boy's mother called police.
