SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Assemblies of God (A/G) Chaplaincy Department is offering stress management and pastoral crisis intervention training at various locations around the country beginning this fall.
Critical Incident Stress Management and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISM/CISD) certification has become mandatory for anyone serving during a major crisis event, according to an A/G news release.
"It is our desire that every district will have a crisis response team available to assist our churches impacted by a crisis event and to assist our communities when disaster strikes," said Al Worthley, A/G home missions chaplaincy director. "We are no longer questioning if a disaster will strike, but when and where. We must be ready."
The training, held at local A/G churches or universities, is $110 per person or $150 per couple. For more information, contact the A/G chaplaincy department at chaplaincy@ag.org.
