SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Assemblies of God (A/G) is developing Spanish Sunday school materials that parallel the denomination's English studies. The new curriculum, Vida Nueva, will be distributed to more than 2,000 Spanish-speaking A/G churches in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Gospel Publishing House is printing and distributing the new materials, according to the A/G News Service. A release date has not been set.
Carlos Gonzales, senior pastor of Palabra de Vida Asamblea de Dios in Denver, said the Spanish Sunday school materials are vital to spiritual growth. He plans to use the lessons with the more than 300 regular worship attendees at his own church and all Spanish speakers in the area.
"It gives students and teachers a chance to get into the Word, study and meditate on the Lord," Gonzales said.
More than 200,000 of the A/G's 2.6 million members are Spanish speaking, according to the A/G News Service.
