PHOENIX -- A Phoenix-based church software company has made its products compatible with ParishPay's direct payment methods. In addition to decreasing the amount of data entry for church staff, parishioners will receive one receipt that combines their automatic giving with in-person donations.
Parish Data System Inc., which provides management software to more than 11,000 churches, is expected to release its updated Census/Contribution program by September, according to The Phoenix Business Journal.
Working along with ParishPay software, the new PDS Church Office Management program can process automatic recurring tax deductions from direct payments made through checking accounts or credit cards. There is no longer a need for church staff to manually enter donations made automatically, said Michael Boyle, president of Parish Data System.
"Churchgoers have been asking for the same conveniences when giving to their church that they already have when paying their other bills," Boyle said. "Churchgoers have been telling us to make giving easier, and we are listening to them."
New York-based Parish Pay handles parishioners' direct payments to churches, dioceses and religious charities throughout the United States. (See story: More churches taking credit cards for offerings)
