NCN News.com: St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Mo., lent its parking lot, kitchen, gymnasium, and other facilities to ABC television's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" team for a week. The team used the facilities to feed the hundreds of workers on-site for the project, for recreation, rest, storage, and even the filming of interviews for the show.
In addition to the workers, more than 7,000 onlookers walked by the church trying to catch of glimpse of the construction and/or the show's star, Ty Pennington. When he wasn't working or playing to the camera, Pennington could be found playing basketball or eating in the St. Paul's gym.
The show will air May 15 and to mark the occasion, St. Paul's is planning to hold a watch party for the community.
