SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Congregations intent on reaching the unchurched must do more than just inviting friends to church events, according to the Assemblies of God (A/G) Center for Church Leadership. During three conferences this fall, the center will teach church leaders how to reach the unchurched rather than attracting people who attend other churches.
"Churches need conversion growth, not transfer growth," the center's president, Ron McManus, said.
The two-day conferences will address ministry to post-moderns, multiple generations in the local church, cross-cultural ministry, communicating to a new generation, and bridging generations in worship. George Barna, president of the Barna Research Group, is among the speakers.
Church pastors and lay leaders can register online for $89 prior to the conference. On-site registration is $99.
The conferences will be held:
- Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Fountain of Life Church in Burlington, N.J.
- Nov. 7-8 at the First Assemblies of God in Memphis
- Nov. 14-15 at Bloomington Assemblies of God in Minneapolis
