Ministers modernizing church with metaphorical reading of Bible

The Arizona Republic: Arizona Methodist pastors David Felten and Jeff Proctor-Murphy have published a new Bible study program called, "Living the Questions," which they see as an alternative to the popular Alpha Course, used in many mainline Protestant churches.

The program is an attempt to modernize Christianity by revamping doctrines and dogmas that were created more than 1,000 years ago, including interpreting Scripture metaphorically, rather than literally.
