Church bells free to ring after court settles dispute

Associated Press: A Friedens, Penn., church is free to ring its bells to beckon prayers for solving a five-year school labor dispute, a district justice ruled.

A neighbor filed a criminal complaint of harassment against the pastor of the Friedens Lutheran Church, saying the bells are a constant source of interruption to daily life. A district justice recently acquitted the Rev. Edward DeVore, saying there was no evidence of an intent to harass or annoy.
