The Courier-Journal: Members of the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals filed two lawsuits last week alleging that police improperly limited demonstrations aimed at Yum! Brands executives last year.
One lawsuit names the City of Anchorage (a suburb of Louisville, Ky.) and two members of its police force as defendants, and the other has been filed against the City of Louisville, Ky., four of its police officers and Southeast Christian Church, a 24,000-member non-denominational church.
In the lawsuit that includes Southeast Christian, PETA members allege that Louisville police and the church conspired to move demonstrators to the side of Blankenbaker Parkway, which borders the 24,000-member church's campus.
Yum CEO David Novak and KFC President Gregg Dedrick are members of Southeast.
