NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A new Bible group study aims to teach Christians how to be victorious in spiritual warfare by focusing on God rather than Satan.
"Spiritual Warfare: Biblical Truth for Victory" is designed for eight sessions and an optional ninth session, according to the Baptist Press. The study is published by LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The study shows how to recognize spiritual attacks and how to respond appropriately as a believer, according to its authors, Chuck Lawless and John Franklin. Lawless is associate dean and associate professor of evangelism at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; Franklin is a prayer specialist for LifeWay.
"For years, many believers have ignored the reality of the enemy," Franklin said. "Churches have not been effective at teaching believers how to put on the armor of God. Consequently, many people in our churches are living defeated lives, and they don't even know they're in a battle."
The study includes a workbook and videos that feature interviews with the authors and an ongoing story about a family dealing with spiritual warfare. The study helps group members understand the difference between God's voice and Satan's and examines the role of prayer, according to LifeWay.
The study, which costs $89.95, is available through LifeWay's Web site and its stores.
