Quad-City Times: The Rev. Keith Piotter and 14 members of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bettendorf, Iowa, renovated a Christian school in Haiti last month, after making a difficult decision to travel to the troubled nation.

Piotter said he was concerned about both the political unrest and the recent hurricane that had devastated parts of Haiti. The impetus for the trip came from the Project Lazarus group, a part of Food for the Poor organization. The school is the group's main project, but they also assist with food distributions and caring for orphans.
