The United Methodist Church General Board of Discipleship is offering a 2004 Presidential Election prayer guide as a free download from www.upperroom.org. According to the UMNS the guide is intended to help voters prayerfully decide their vote. The guide was released Oct. 10.
"A national election brings an opportunity to reflect upon God's will for our nation," said Steve Bryant, World Editor of The Upper Room. "We shouldn't confuse national interest with the reign of God, nor should we assume that those interests are necessarily in opposition. But the decisions on issues and candidates deserve our prayerful consideration."
A Guide to Prayer for the 2004 National Election is available as a downloadable PDF. This personal prayer guide is an adaptation of a prayer guide designed for the 2004 General Conference of The United Methodist Church. This guide is available through Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2.
