The Boston Globe: Upstairs at the Second Church in Dorchester, Mass., worshipers listen to their pastor, the Rev. Victor Price, preach in English. Downstairs, members of the Church of the Nazarene are holding a second service in Portuguese. After the first service concludes, 100-plus Haitian worshipers arrive to begin their service in Creole.

With immigration multiplying the native tongues of believers in Boston, many denominations have found it wise, not to mention cost-effective, to let communities of different languages worship in the same church building, sometimes at the same time.
