BROOKINGS, S.D. — Lakewood Church in Dallas, is planning a new $1.9 million facility, called Lakewood Church-Central, that will include an integrated video display system designed and manufactured by Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAKT).
According to Business Wire, Daktronics will provide a unique system that includes three ProStar(R) video displays to reach an audience of more than 16,000 viewers with vivid graphics, crisp video and engaging animations, for concerts and seminars.
The integrated display system will be among the most sophisticated of any indoor facility, utilizing multiple full-color light emitting diode (LED) displays to provide Lakewood Church members and guests with ever-changing visuals. LED technology is the state-of-the-art in large screen display technology, offering excellent visibility, brightness and clarity.
Daktronics participated in a competitive 'shoot-out' that brought multiple companies and their proposed technologies to Lakewood Church for a final decision. A Daktronics ProStar(R) display and LED displays from two other video display manufacturers were lined-up side by side to compare image quality and other capabilities.
"Product, service and price were the criteria we needed to consider," said Duncan Dodds, the Executive Director of Lakewood Church. "From the 'shoot-out', we easily came to the conclusion Daktronics display had the best image and provided better overall value. The video display stood out amongst all of the others," Dodds said.
The ProStar(R) video technology's capabilities include the display of brilliant video, custom animation, dazzling graphics and logos, and dynamic text. Different content may be programmed to show on one or all three of the displays simultaneously.
"It was our goal to purchase the best technology backed up by complete and reliable service for our new facility," said Dodds.
Daktronics is one of the world's largest suppliers of, electronic scoreboards, computer-programmable displays, large screen video displays and control systems.
