FT. MORGAN, Colo.—Nineteen members of the Colorado chapter of Campers on Mission donated 300 hours of labor last month to repair and renovate the Washington Avenue Southern Baptist Church in Rocky Ford, Colo., according to the Fort Morgan Times.
The church was chosen by the state COM chapter as the site for its annual Spring Rally and work project. The church budgeted $3,000 for building materials and agreed to provide water and electricity for the campers' motor homes and trailers that were parked on church property for five days of work.
The group installed new restroom vanities, improved restroom plumbing, hung new florescent lights, built enclosed storage shelves in the kitchen, relayed an underground electrical conduit leading to the church sign and a yard light, painted the sign and exterior trim on the church, and completed many other small projects.
They also hosted the ladies of the local church for an afternoon tea and work on the kitchen and fellowship hall.
