GARLAND, Texas--The American Tract Society is printing a Spanish translation of their "The Passion of the Christ" gospel tract, La Pasion del Cristo, in an effort to reach Hispanic audiences with the movie's salvation message. According to Religion News Service, the blockbuster film of Jesus' death is now reaching a global audience and the Tract Society doesn't want to be far behind.
The 178-year-old gospel publisher is working with groups overseas to donate French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Thai, Hebrew and Arabic Passion movie tract translations.
In the United States individuals and churches of every denomination are distributing the Passion tracts as part of their Easter outreach. More than three million tracts on the movie have already been distributed in North America. More than 70,000 advance orders of the Spanish translation have been placed.
Dan Southern, president of the American Tract Society, said Christians are distributing the tracts at movie theaters. He said his prayer for the Spanish tract and the other translations is to "spread the message of salvation to a world hungry for the Gospel of Christ."
