• Evangelical advocacy group consolidates offices

WASHINGTON -- The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) plans to consolidate its operations in its Washington office as it increases its lobbying efforts, according to the Associated Press.

The organization plans to close its Los Angeles office this summer, and spend more time lobbying the federal government, according to its board of directors. NAE sponsors conferences and events that encourage government agencies to work with evangelical Christians, primarily on family issues.

NAE represents nearly 50 denominations and 43,000 local congregations, and is affiliated with such groups as the National Religious Broadcasters and Evangelical Child & Family Agency.
