One way to encourage the spiritual growth in your church is to implement discipleship-focused Bible studies. Following are several we have seen produce positive results.
- Back to the Book - Seven Ways to Ignite a Passion for Reading the Bible, an article from Christianity Today's Christian Reader, March/April 2003.
- Confidence in the Word is a Web-site that offers many Bible study ideas and resources.
- Free Bible-reading plans from NavPress.
- Tools for Building Disciples. A free download from The Navigators.
- Living by the Book and Living by the Book workbook, by Howard Hendricks & William Hendricks
- That I May Know Him: Philippians/Colossians by Kay Arthur and David Lawson.
- Online Bible Search from BibleGateway.com
Another idea to disciple new and long-time believers alike is to instigate a Bible-reading challenge. Select a month of the year and a book of the Bible and challenge your congregation to read the book, one chapter a day, for a month.
You can also encourage the use of Bible software. At home, Bible software can help Christians learn from the scriptures, and at work it can help in witnessing.
- BibleLibrary.com offers Bible software products that contain up to 100 popular Bibles, references, and works at amazingly low prices. The software is powerful, yet easy to use.
- Logos Bible Software makes Bible study easier and more accessible.
Here are a couple of other sites we'd recommend:
- DiscipleshipTools.org
- Into Thy Word Resources for Church leaders and pastors who want to grow in faith.
