CONROE, Texas ââ¬â Pastor Dyrrell Priest is so sure his River of Life Church is going to grow, he moved his 125-member congregation to the Summit Auditorium, which can accommodate more than 800 people.
According to a report in The Courier, Priest said he doesn't want to get too comfortable because he expects to outgrow that auditorium as well.
"We know we're gonna grow," Priest said. "We enjoy the Word of God. We teach people how to apply God's Word and let the river flow through them."
Priest started the church in 2000, with just a handful of members filling four rows of chairs. The recent move is the second relocation.
The newspaper reported that Priest previously built churches in Mississippi, Louisiana and other parts of Texas.
Members are attracted to the relaxed, "come as you are" atmosphere and share Priest's vision for growth.
"God makes things happen for us," said church member Jane McAfee.
