OMAHA, Neb. ââ¬â Hundreds of prison inmates heard the gospel as part of a five-day blitz organized by Operation Starting Line, AgapePress reported.
The Christian outreach program estimated that more than half of Nebraska's 4,000 prison inmates got an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior Sept. 17-28. Program coordinator Dallas Anderson said the event is more than a one-time revival.
"We offer them not only a chance to change the direction of their life, but we (also) offer volunteers who come in on a regular basis and really help them make some better choices and grow in their Christian walk," Anderson said.
He said many inmates have written to express gratitude to the ministry for remembering and reaching out to them.
Anderson said Washington, D.C.-based Operation Starting Line has visited about 20 prison systems and touched the lives of more than 300,000 inmates since it began nearly four years ago.
